Jember, E Java, (Antara) - Marine and Fisheries Minister Susi Pudjiastuti attended the main event of the Jember Fashion Carnival (JFC) held at the Jember city square in East Java on Sunday.
Minister Susi, along with Jember Mayor Faida and JFC President Dynand Fariz, were seen strolling along the "catwalk" while waving to the spectators who thronged the sides of the city square.
The minister also took a few minutes of her time to take pictures of the carnival.
In the meantime, Faida said the JFC is the pride of the Jember community as it is known all over the world.
The first ever female mayor of Jember also expressed gratitude to Minister Susi for attending the event and thanked the JFC president for popularizing the tourism creative economy through the fashion carnival that attracted scores of local and foreign tourists to Jember.
"I am proud of the Jember Fashion Carnival that has promoted the local and national culture because with arts and culture, life will be wonderful. I say success to Dynand Fariz, the president of JFC," Faida added.(*)
