Jakarta, (Antara) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has urged to immediately follow up on the recommendation and findings of the Supreme Audit Board (BPK).

"I hope the exiting recommendation and findings of the BPK will be followed up as soon as possible," the president remarked when receiving the audit report on the Central Government Financial Report 2015 at the State Palace on Monday.

President Jokowi then encouraged all ministries/institutions and non-ministries to improve and build financial governance in a transparent manner and to show greater accountability for the use of public money.

The head of state stressed that no single party can "play around" with the people's money.

"We know everything that the state budget should be fully utilized for the benefit of the people, and we should be able to ensure that the people can really benefit from the use of the state budget," the president emphasized.

Jokowi pointed out that this year was the first time the government was using the accrual-based Government Accounting Standard (SAP) with seven financial reports, or an increase of three compared to the previous SAP.

"I know it is not easy because there are three additional reports: changes in equity, operational, and changes in the budget balance," he added.(*)
