Bandarlampung (Antara) - The Networks of Activists 1998 warned politicians against interference in possible cabinet reshuffle by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).
Cabinet reshuffle is a prerogative rights of the president. It is beyond the border of political area of political parties including the coalition of parties supporting the government, Ricky Tamba , the spokesman of the non governmental organization, said here on Sunday.
"We also have to watch out for intervention by opportunists from among the volunteers giving political support for Joko Widodo (during the last presidential election)," Ricky said.
He said even political parties of the opposition Red and White Coalition, all had the obligations to support President Jokowi in strengthening his cabinet.
"Let us get rid of our political ego and think only of the people's interest and preserve the integrity of the nation," he said.
The Networks of Activist 1998 also asked President Jokowi to not only evaluate the performance of his ministers or reshuffle his cabinet, but he also has to draft a comprehensive formula of Indonesian ideology and perspective to be implemented by the new cabinet members if reshuffle has to be made.
"In the past we had Broad Outline of the State Ideology (GBHN) and Five Year Development Planning (Repelita). The present government should adopt the policy again," he said.
The non governmental organization called for Indonesian people to remain united and oppose any attempt to split the country.
"We must oppose new liberalism and new imperialism and preserve the state ideology Pancasila," Rikcy said.(*)
