Jakarta (Antara) - Hundreds of people clad in black dresses stormed the office of the central executive board of the United Development Party (PPP) here on Tuesday. They claimed to be supporters of the PPP camp led by Muhammad Romahurmuziy, according to Humphrey Djemat, chairman of the team of lawyers of Djan Faridz, who is the chairman of the party's rival camp. The masses arrived at the PPP headquarters at 1.30 p. m. in two buses and directly entered the building. They aimed to occupy the PPP office because they felt that the Romahurmuziy leadership of the party was legitimate and was recognized by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights. The arrival of the 'attackers' surprised a number of PPP leaders and task forces inside the office. The situation turned chaotic when the task forces of the two camps pushed each other at the office gate. This drastic move is believed to have been driven by the discontent of the Romahurmuziy camp regarding the decision of the State Administrative Court (PTUN) to rule in favor of former PPP general chairman Suryadharma Ali's camp.
