Jakarta (Antara) - Acting Jakarta Governor Basuki Tjahaja Purnama, better known as Ahok, revealed that he would be inaugurated as governor at the Presidential Palace on Wednesday. "The inauguration will take place at the Presidential Palace at 2 p.m. local time, on Wednesday," Ahok stated at the Jakarta City Hall on Tuesday. Ahok remarked that President Joko Widodo had issued a presidential decree on his inauguration as the governor of Jakarta. "The presidential decree on the inauguration has been issued," Ahok stated. He added that President Jokowi's choice of the venue for the inauguration had no connection with the Jakarta Provincial Legislative Assembly (DPRD DKI). "Because the inauguration has nothing to do with the DPRD DKI, the DPRD members will be invited to attend the inauguration ceremony," Ahok noted. Based on the government regulation in lieu of Law No.1/2014 on the election of governors, district heads, and mayors, Ahok will be the first governor to be inaugurated by the president in the state capital city.
