Pamekasan, E Java (Antara) - The Pamekasan Election Commission will repeat recapitulation of presidential election in 16 polling centers in the sub-district of Proppo, Pamekasan, Madura island in East Java.
Recapitulation is repeated because of indications of irregularities in the presidential elections held on July 9.
"Recapitulation will be held again starting 10.000 local time," district election commissioner Moh Subhan said here on Wednesday.
The rerun of the vote counting has been made on recommendation from the Election Watchdog (Bawaslu) after finding mistake in filling the form of polling result (C1 form), Subhan said.
The 16 polling booths are located in nine villages in the Proppo sub-district, Pamekasan, including the villages of Lenteng, Rangperang Laok, Jambringin, Panagguan, Pangtonggal, Srambah, Campor, Klampar dan Desa Mapper.
Chairman of Pamekasan Bawaslu Zaini said the rerun of vote counting was recommended after irregularities reported by the campaign team of presidential candidate Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and his running mater Jusuf Kalla (JK).
Earlier, the Jokowi-JK campaign team reported that there were irregularities in 18 polling booths in the nine villages.
However, it was later decided that recapitulations were needed only in 16 polling booth

However, according to quick counts by a number of survey agencies, the Jokowi-JK camp led the presidential race with a significant margin over rival candidates Prabowo Subianto and his running mate Hatta Rajasa.
