Jakarta (Antara) - Vice presidential candidate Hatta Rajasa was better than his rival vice presidential candidate Jusuf Kalla during the fourth round of debates on Sunday evening, an observer said.
"Hatta is better because he is more substantive, systematic, and quieter. Jusuf Kalla seemed nervous and talked about technical aspects of education, research, and technology," Nanat Fatah Natsir, the director of the Nusantara Madani Institute, said here on Monday.
Nanat, who is also the presidium chairman of the Indonesian Intellectual Muslim Association (ICMI), said that Hatta was able to provide a systematic explanation because he had direct experience in the research and technology field during his term as a research and technology minister.
He noted that the fourth round on Sunday evening (June 29), which was attended by the two vice presidential candidates, was more interesting than the previous debates.
"The debate was very good and interesting. Of the four rounds, the debate held last night was the best," Nanat, who is a former rector of the State Islamic University (UIN) of Bandung, said. (*)
