Jakarta (Antara) - Chief of the State Audit Board (BPK) Rizal Djalil said on Tuesday BPK member Ali Masykur Musa has applied for a leave of absence before joining the campaign team of the Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa pair.
"Mr. Ali has reported to me as BPK chief that he has applied for a leave of absence. He did so in the presence of Mr. Hendar (BPK secretary general Hendar Ristiawan)," Rizal said at the parliament building here on Tuesday.
Rizal said Ali was entitled to exercising his rights after applying for a leave of absence.
He noted that he is ready to fulfill summons from the Election Supervisory Board (Bawaslu) to clarify the status of Ali.
"It's all right for Bawaslu to summon Mr. Ali Masykur. If it (Bawaslu) wants me to clarify it, I will be ready to do so," he added.
However, he declined to elaborate on alleged violation of code of ethics by Ali and sanctions to be imposed by BPK on him.
Previously, Bawaslu decided that Ali had allegedly violated BPK's rules for joining the Prabowo-Hatta presidential team.
Bawaslu alleged Ali had violated BPK's code of ethics. (*)
