Bandung, W Java (Antara) - Eight social organizations in West Java have committed to support the Prabowo Subianto-Hatta Rajasa presidential and vice presidential pair in the upcoming July 9 election. The eight organizations included the West Java chapters of the Indonesian Mosque Council, the National Committee for the Handicapped, the Association of Muslim Fashion Designers, the Association of Puppeteers, the Association of Wedding Makeup Artists, the Association of Bandung Public Minivan Drivers, and the Student Communication Forum, politician of the Great Indonesia Movement (Gerindra) Party Sodik Mudjahid stated at a get-together with professors, ulemas, intellectuals, and volunteers across the province on Wednesday. At the meeting, presidential candidate Prabowo Subianto expressed gratitude to the organizations for their support and pledged to do his utmost to fulfill the mandate if he is elected as the president. "I appreciate and am moved by the support from all quarters, elements, and organizations that have come forward and waited for hours to voice their support for the Prabowo-Hatta duo. We accept the support and are determined to contribute in whatever way we can for the best interests of the Indonesian state and people," he emphasized. The Prabowo-Hatta duo is nominated by a coalition of six parties: Gerindra, the National Mandate Party (PAN), the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS), the United Development Party (PPP), the Golkar Party, and the Crescent and Star Party (PBB).
