Batam, Riau Islands (Antara) - The work of 450 inmates in Class IIA Batam Prison was recorded in Indonesian Record Museum, Muri, under the category, "The Art Expression of Inmates". The record registration was done by the Manager of Muri, Ngadri, who then submitted the record award number 6439 to the Head of Class IIA Batam Prison. "This is the very first time an event has been done in one of Indonesian prisons. Since the total is so many, it has become important to record this creation," explained Ngadri. The 450 inmates together were left free to be creative on a fabric of 357 meters in length. "Inmates are often indulging in some creative activity such as painting or writing poems. However, this was the first time that such a creative activity has been done together in prison," noted Ngadri. Anak Agung Gde Khrisna added that the activity was to provide a medium to inmates to express their ideas through painting or writing. "This activity can be a medium for inmates to express their apologies to families, victims, or others who were harmed by their actions," explained Anak Agung Gde Khrisna.
