Jakarta (Antara) - Indonesian racer Sean Gelael marks his second year in the FIA Formula 3 European Championship, which will kick off in a few days in Silverstone, England, with increasing challenges. Sean and his teammate, Jagonya Ayam, of the Carlin team have completed their preparations in the practice sessions with promising results at the Hungaroring and Red Bull Ring racing circuits, last week and are ready for the event in UK. "This is a British team participating on home turf. I have great memories of Silverstone last year, it feels so amazing. My target is to score a point, and therefore, I will give my best next week," Sean emphasised. Sean is familiar with the Silverstone circuit, as he has had a podium finish twice in the British F3 International Series. Sean Gelael is also working well with his team's Spanish engineer, Jose Manuel Garcia, as these are crucial moments in the beginning of this season, and Garcia has to fine-tune the Dallara-Volkswagen driven by Sean to go faster during each lap of the circuit. "Sean is already well-versed with it for over a year, and now, since we are working together, he is much focused, very professional, and his driving skills are improving," Garcia pointed out. Garcia claimed that Sean appears poised and has gained the confidence of his team, as he has improved his lap timings in each of his training sessions. "A lot of hard work is needed to be the fastest, it is not something magical," Garcia stated. The Silverstone track is only a small part of a racer's hard work, because the F3 FIA European Championship will take place in 11 rounds, and the final race will be the Macau Grand Prix, scheduled to be held in November. Sean has been through a long journey, and his competitors from various European countries will pose a tough challenge, as they compete to gain a place in Formula One (F1). (*)
