Jayapura, Papua (Antara) - The Cessna Caravan aircraft that belongs to Dimonim Air Company skidded off on Friday at 2 pm local time and plunged into a ditch. The plane with PK-HVC registry code was carrying the general election logistics from Dekai of Yahukimo District. The Jayapura Airbase Commander Colonel Oka Prawira informed Antara that the aircraft experienced hard landing during the touchdown in Kwelamdua Airport of Yahukimo District. "The accident does not claim any casualty," Oka confirmed. The Chief of Yahukimo Resort Police Senior Commissioner Adjunct Ade Jaja explained that the Caravan was piloted by Captain Hendro, with five passengers including Chief of Sub-district and Kwelamdua regional election members as well as two police officers. "There are no passengers or crew who get injured. The aircraft has also been pulled out of the ditch," Ade confirmed, adding that the weather, when the incident happened, was not good. The Kwelamdua District is one from 37 districts in Yahukimo that will go to vote for the general election on Saturday (April 12). (*)
