Madiun, E Java (Antara) - Three poll stations at the first-class penitentiary in East Java's Madiun city lacked ballot papers on Wednesday. "There are three poll stations at the Madiun penitentiary, namely polling stations 19, 20 and 21. All of them ran short of ballot papers," chief of the penitentiary Pargiyo emphasized. The polling station 19 needed 191 more ballot papers to elect members of the Madiun City Legislative Council and the polling stations 20 and 21 needed 199 and 119 more ballot papers respectively to elect members of the East Java Provincial Legislative Council, he put forth. "We have reported the lack of ballot papers to the Madiun City General Elections Commission to follow it up. Despite the lack of ballot papers, the legislative election at the penitentiary ran smoothly," he clarified. Commissioner of the Madiun City KPU Latutik Mukhlisin confirmed the shortage of ballot papers at the polling stations, adding that he had coordinated with other commissioners of the KPU to deal with the problem. "We have coordinated with other KPU commissioners and penitentiary officers. We will soon meet the shortage of ballot papers to ensure that the polling is not disrupted," he asserted.
