Jakarta (Antara) - Former Indonesian Ambassador to Japan Muhammad Luthfi is appointed as new Trade Minister, replacing Gita Wirjawan who announced his resignation last January to pursue presidential candidacy. "I find Muhammad Luthfi as an eligible person for the position as Trade Minister," President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said here on Wednesday at a press conference. Before being appointed as trade minister, Muhammad Luthfi was once Indonesian Ambassador to Japan. He was also former Chairman of Investment Coordinating Board.
