Jakarta (Antara) - Jakarta Fair or PRJ, the largest entertainment arena and exhibition of multi-products in Southeast Asia, takes place in Jakarta's Kemayoran area starting Thursday (June 6). The PRJ which will last until July 7, 2013 is organized by PT Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) in cooperation with the Jakarta provincial government in an effort to enliven the capital city's 486th anniversary. On Thursday morning, a great number of people queued at the ticket counters, trying to take the first opportunity to come into the PRJ arena as that conducted by one of visitors, Burhanuddin,40, who came to the PRJ along with his big family. The PRJ's organizing committee has set a target of 4.8 million visitors with direct transactions worth 4.5 trillion rupiah, PT JIExpo managing director, who is concurrently general chairman of the PRJ 2013 organizing committee, Prajna Murdaya told the press here last week. "We hoped this year's PRJ implementation could become the main shopping destination for millions of visitors from Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang and Bekasi (Jabodetabek)," he said. A total of 2,650 participants who were grouped in 1.280 booths comprising small-medium scale entrepreneurs and major business sectors, as well as state-owned companies are taking part in the 2013 PRJ. In addition, 260 bands and top Indonesian singers will also enliven the annual Jakarta Fair. The organizing committee also provides a number of prizes such as 32 motorbikes and five cars. The PRJ is open from 3.30pm to 10pm from Mondays to Thursdays, and 10am to 11pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Meanwhile, admission prices (HTM) on Mondays through Thursdays is Rp25.000, while on Fridays through Sundays or weekend worth Rp30,000 per person. (*)
