Jakarta (Antara) - Supreme Court chief justice Hatta Ali inducted Perry Warjiyo as Bank Indonesia (BI) deputy governor for the 2013-2018 term at the Supreme Court building here on Monday. "I wish to express my gratitude to the media which have supported me directly and indirectly," he said after his induction. Perry said during his term of office as BI deputy governor he would try his best to control inflation with low interest rate, maintain the stability of the rupiah's exchange rate, encourage foreign capital inflows, strengthen pro-job and pro-poor macro prudential policies, coordinate with the government, improve BI's roles in regions and strengthen the domestic economy. Also present at the induction ceremony were the BI governor and his ranks and files, the finance minister, the Supreme Court deputy chief justice for judicial and non-judicial affairs, and a number of officials from the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK), banks and deposit insurace agency. The House of Representatives (DPR) had earlier elected Perry as BI deputy governor for monetary management to replace Budi Mulya who had entered retirement.
