Flood water is as deep as two meters in some locations after incessant rains in the past two days, the regional disaster control agency (BPBD) said.
"So far we have recorded 1,545 refugees in 23 locations," BPBD spokesman Bambang Surya Saputra said here on Monday.
Based on data at the BPBD, 28 kelurahans (lower administration areas) with a total of 3,742 families or 11,972 people were submerged under the flood water.
The submerged kelurahans included Bidara Cina, Kampung Melayu, Cawang, Kramat Jati, Cililitan, Kebagusan, Cilandak Barat, Ulujami, Pondok Pinang and Petamburan.
The flood water was 50 centimeter to two meter deep, Bambang said.
He said the agency has coordinated with the fire department, the communication office, the public works office , the health office and the police department and other related offices in the city.
He said according to the meteorology , climatology and geophysics office , heavy rain would continue to hit Jakrta untikl Tuesday.(*)
