Jakarta - Minister for Women Empowerment and Child Protection, Linda Amalia Sari Gumelar has stated that the government has instituted task forces charged with preventing human trafficking in 25 provinces and 77 districts. "The task forces were formed to coordinate efforts to prevent and handle human trafficking," said Gumelar, here on Wednesday. Moreover, she explained that the task forces are also in charge of advocating, counselling, training and mobilizing national and international partnerships concerning human trafficking. "Not only that, the task force should monitor the implementation of victim protection process that includes rehabilitation, repatriation and social reintegration, as well as monitor the process of law enforcement," Gumelar added. According to the Minister, the government will continue to repair the handling process of human trafficking cases at the national and regional levels by improving the performance of the Task Force. "We have conducted some regional, bilateral and global cooperation in order to provide more protection for children from trafficking, prostitution and pornography," Gumelar explained. (*)
