Merak, Banten - The Merak Bus Terminal in the Banten province was packed on Friday as Idul Fitri holiday travelers continued to return to their workplaces after celebrating the festival with family and relatives in their hometowns. Ajis, an official of the bus terminal pointed out that thousands of people had arrived at the terminal on Friday morning and boarded buses driving to various destinations on the Java Island. "They are pedestrian ferry passengers, who have just arrived at the Merak ferry port from various cities in Sumatra, and will now be taking a bus to their respective destinations in Jakarta, Bekasi, Bogor, Tangerang and Bandung," he added. Ajis also pointed out that passenger traffic is expected to peak on Friday evening and continue until Sunday, as most travelers are looking to return to their workplaces on Monday. He noted that around 25,000 passengers are expected to arrive and depart from the Merak bus terminal on Friday and Saturday. "We expect the number of passengers to continue increasing as the day progresses, including those who are returning to Jakarta, Bogor, and Bandung," Ajis explained. (*)
