Jakarta - Minister for State Enterprises Dahlan Iskan suggests that state property companies build housing complexes near railway stations.
The people living close to railway stations would bemore mobile, Dahlan said here on Tuesday.
In addition, the people would be encouraged to use mass transport facility reducing congestion in highways , Dahlan said.
He said state-owned housing developer Perumnas shoulod build houses not only for the employees of state companies but also for other people.
Perumans president director Himawan Arief Sugoto has said the company plans to build apartment towers in near Lenteng Agung railway station in South Jakarta.
The two apartment towers to cost around Rp300 billion will be built over a hectare plot of land owned by PT KAI in that location.
Himawan said construction is expected to start toward the end of this year.
He said Perumnas also wants to use lands owned by state owned bus transport company Perum Pengangkutan Penumpang Djakarta (PPD) in Ciputat and Ciracas. (*)
