MPR Speaker Bambang Soesatyo, also known as Bamsoet, stated that Indonesia has set a big dream and will become a high-income nation on par with developed countries in 2045.
"It requires our joint commitment, which has been started by President Joko Widodo with establishing two priority strategies towards Golden Indonesia 2045," Bamsoet noted in his speech during the 2024 MPR Annual Session at the Parliamentary Complex in Jakarta, Friday.
According to Bamsoet, the priorities are industrial downstreaming and human resource development (SDM).
The various developments have created bridges connecting islands, villages, and communities with new hopes and opportunities.
Hence, Bamsoet emphasized that the next government under President Prabowo Subianto and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka should continue to fight to realize the vision.
"We must continue to maintain and preserve this momentum together," he emphasized.
This year's MPR annual session is held under the theme of "Nusantara Baru, Indonesia Maju" or "New Nusantara, Advanced Indonesia" that reflects the country’s vision for progress, including the capital move to Nusantara and the goal of advancing the nation.
