Surabaya, E Java (ANTARA) - State power company PT PLN, East Java office, believed it will increase its subscribers by 320,000 in the area as many people in East Java are still not enjoying electricity.
"In the meantime, the total number of subscribers in East Java has reached 7.875 million," Communications, Law and Administrative Manager of PT PLN, East Java office, Nurdajanto said in Surabaya Friday.
He said with such a target, in the January-December 2012 period the company would earn Rp19.8 trillion.
"We are optimistic that the realization of the income target expected to grow 9.5 pct compared to that in 2011," he said.
He said the number of household subscribers in 2011 contributed 92.73 pct of the total number of subscribers.
"The next position was contributed by business subscribers with 44 pct, or 333,691 subscribers," he said.
The social subscribers (houses of prayer) 2.28 pct or 179.376 subscribers, factories 0,49 pct or 38.786 subscribers, but industries only 0,15 pct of the total number of subscribers," he said.
The number is equal to 11.658 subscribers in East Java, but in terms of power consumption they have the highest contribution of 44,18 pct.
"In terms of power sales against industries it reached 10.611 GWh," he said.
In the next position, power consumption in East Java was reached by households with a contribution of 37,82 pct and 9.085 GWh. Business consumption only 11,55 pct and power sales 2.775 GWh, factories 3,21 pct with 772 GWh, and social subscribers 2,59 pct and 623 GWh.
"In the meantime, in the income in the January-December 2011 period, there has been an increase compared to those in the same period of last year with Rp15 trillion. And up till now, East Java still has a power surplus of 2,500 MW," he said. (*)
