Jambi - The construction of Kerinci hydro power plant (PLTA) is expected to be completed in 2015, Jambi Governor Hasan Basri Agus said.
"The power plant is at present still in the stage of construction," the governor said about the power plant which is being built in Jambi's Kerinci district.
The power plant has a capacity of 2 x 90 MW and is able to provide 180,000 Mw, thereby the total need for electricity of Jambi province which is about 30,000 MW will have been been exceeded, the governor said.
He said that the power pant's capacity would be able to supply electricity to a down stream industrial center which would be built in Tanjungjabung Timor district.
The hydro power plant is being built by PT Bukaka Teknik Utama but its groundbreaking construction will be carried out by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono when he will attend the national press day in Jambi on February 9, next year. (*)
