Jakarta - The Ministry of Culture and Tourism will soon announce the release of t wo box office films, 'Harry Porter' and 'Transformers', in Indonesia and will be screened at movies throughout the country, a senior official said. "Culture and Tourism Minister Jero Wacik will hold a press conference on the plan to release the two films," Director General for Cultural Arts and Films Ukus Kuswara said. Ukus said that the government through the relevant agencies such as the ministry of culture and tourism was holding talks with foreign film importers about the entry into Indonesia the films. "We hope the talks will solve the problems. Now discussions on the films had touched on the business-to-business level with foreign film importers," he said. For this purpose, the ministry of culture and tourism will do its best to overcome all problems that will face the importation of the foreign films, he said. The director general said that if the problems were already solved, the business-to-business discussion would run well so that the release in Indonesia of 'Harry Porter' and 'Transformers" as well as other box office film would not face constraints. He expressed his conviction that the two films would soon be put on screens at the Indonesian cinemas because movie goers and lovers had been waiting for them for a long time. But Ukus did yet disclose the exact date for two films to be put on the movie screen in Indonesia. "It cannot yet be disclosed. Maybe the minister will later announce the exact date," he said The final "Harry Potter" film shattered box office records worldwide with a whopping $168.6 million in U.S. and Canadian ticket sales over the opening weekend and nearly $476 million globally.
