Jombang, (Antara) - The Jombang disaster mitigation office has conducted evacuation in several sub-districts, as the areas have been inundated by floodwaters reaching a height of up to an adult's chest.
Up to 405 flood victims were accommodated at a safer place, as several villages were flooded, Gunadi of the Jombang disaster mitigation office noted here on Wednesday.
The sub-districts of Jombang, Bareng, Mojowarno, Mojoagung, and Sumobito were flooded following incessant heavy rains on Tuesday.
Most of the flood victims returned to their homes, and currently, only 24 evacuees are remaining, he stated.
A public kitchen has been set up to provide meals to some 400 flood victims.
Mojoagung Sub-district was the worst hit by the flooding, as floodwaters reached a height of up to two meters.(*)
