London, (Antara) - The Polish Navy is interested in establishing cooperation with the Indonesian Navy, a Polish high ranking officer said.
Vice Admiral Marian Ambroziak, inspector for the Navy of Armed Forces General Command of Poland, made the remarks when meeting Indonesian Ambassador to Poland Peter F. Gontha in Warsaw on Thursday.
According to Roos Diana, the counselor of the Indonesian Embassy in Warsaw, the cooperation could BE started with military education and exercises.
With regard to the educational sector, Indonesia could explore the possibility of cooperation with the Polish Naval Academy.
During the meeting, Ambassador Gontha explained that Indonesia is a maritime country and has the longest coastal line in the world, stretching 54,174 kilometers in length.
Therefore, Indonesia expressed its interest to cooperate with Poland in the maritime sector and arms system.
The Indonesian Marine Affairs and Fisheries took the opportunity to visit Poland recently. It will be followed by a visit by the Indonesian Minister of Industry to Poland. The industry minister will explore various possibilities of cooperation with Poland.
Ambroziak expressed the interest of Poland to send observers to the Komodo multilateral military exercise in Indonesia in 2016.(*)
