Bogor, W Java (Antara) - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and First Lady Iriana attended the National Children's Day 2015 in the back yard of the Bogor Palace main building on Tuesday.
Also present at the peak event of the National Children's Day were some cabinet ministers such as Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Minister Yohana Yembise, Communications and Informatics Minister Rudiantara, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Sudirman Said, Law and Human Rights Minister Yasona Laoly, Attorney General M Prasetyo, Foreign Affairs Minister Retno Marsudi, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Tedjo Edhy Purdijatno, Coordinating Minister for Culture and Human Development Puan Maharani, Culture, Elementary and Secondary Education Minister Anies Baswedan, and Madame Mufidah Jusuf Kalla.
Themed "Achieving Environmentally and Family Friendly Children,"
the peak event of the National Children's Day 2015 was also attended by some 2,500 children.
"All Indonesian children are children of us all, so that all components of the nation shall ensure that there is no discrimination and violence against them," Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Minister Yohana Yembise remarked.
She noted that love, friendliness and concern for all children should start from a harmonious family life.
Considered as the most valuable resources on the nation, the Indonesia children are a powerful force in the development and stability of the nation.(*)
