Jombang, E Java (Antara) - The Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports, Imam Nahrawi, stated that Indonesia is ready to host the 2022 World Cup, with a wide range of facilities in place. "Indonesia is ready for the world cup, especially with regard to facilities and means to tackle climate conditions. Indonesian citizens will support it," Imam Nahrawi said here on Thursday. In the absence of a government guarantee, Indonesia had fallen out of the race to host the 2022 World Cup in 2010. Nahrawi expressed hope that Indonesia will regain the spirit to host a football world cup and will become a prestigious venue for football competitions. The Minister claimed that Indonesia is capable of hosting the competition. Indonesia itself has a lot of potential football talents. "Indonesia has a lot of seeds and players have been prepared. It is still possible," he remarked. The Minister has been talking to the Indonesian Football Association and the decisions of the meeting will be forwarded to the Executive Committee of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA). "I am sure it will be realized," he added. (*)
