By Azis Kurmala Jakarta (Antara) -- An earthquake measuring 7.1 on the Richter Scale hit Larantuka in East Flores, East Nusa Tenggara, at 20:45 hours local time on Friday. According to the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the epicenter of the earthquake lies at 7.55 degrees northern latitude and 126.60 degrees eastern longitude, at a depth of 572 kilometers. The epicenter of the quake is located 104 kilometers northwest of East Flores, East Nusa Tenggara; 129 kilometers northeast of Sikka, East Nusa Tenggara; 139 kilometers northwest of Lembata, East Nusa Tenggara; 312 kilometers northwest of Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara; and 1.759 kilometers southeast of Jakarta. The earthquake does not have the potential to trigger a tsunami. (*)
