Jakarta (Antara) - Indonesia's export of jewellery rose 100.42 percent on-year to US$3.17 billion in the first eight months of the year, an official said. The trade ministry is set to keep the rising trend, Director General for National Export Expansion, Nus Nuzulia Ishak, said in a statement here on Sunday. The trade ministry would encourage innovation and improvement of creativity of craftsmen such as by inviting them to take part in the Indonesian exhibition of the 9th Jewellery Show ke-9 from 20-23 November 2014. Nus said the country's jewellery export performance is encouraging with export market expanding to various countries including Singapore, Hong Kong, South Africa, the United States and the United Arab Emirates. The products displayed at the exhibition are recognized internationally and some of them were winners of the award from the World Craft Council with products categorized as excellent in quality and in authenticity. Indonesia Jewellery Show is held regularly and in 2014, there were more than 200 craftsmen from all over the country taking part. (*)
