Nusa Dua, Bali (Antara) - Several Pacific countries such as Fiji and Vanuatu appreciated Bali Democracy Forum for sharing various countries' experiences in implementing democracy. "This seventh BDF is a special one for Fiji. Special in the sense that we have good news to report to all who value democracy as the cornerstone for a just and prosperous society," the Fijian Foreign Minister Ratu Inoke Kubuabola said during BDF VII held here on Saturday. According to Inoke, Fiji had took time to develop democracy and sustainable socio-economic in 2010-2014 that had been the basis for political, socio economic and public sector reforms. Minister said Fijian Prime Minister Bainimarama has selected fair strategy and more compassionate leadership in developing the democracy. Inoke appreciated President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono for his co-leadership in the Multinational Observer Group (MOG) during Fijian election in 2014. "The effort marks a chapter in our quest together to re-establish democracy that began after the events of 2006, where you offered the services of the General Elections Commission and the best practices and lessons from the BDF," Minister said.
