London (Antara) - The pair of Indonesian presidential candidates, Joko Widodo-Jusuf Kalla (Jokowi-JK), is temporarily leading in some European countries such as Britain, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Austria, embassy spokesperson Heni Hamida noted here on Thursday.
Hamida stated that on July 5, 2014, of the 1,135 total voters casting their ballots in London, 852 voted for the Jokowi-JK pair and 276 voted for the presidential and vice presidential candidates, Prabowo Subianto and Hatta Rajasa (Prabowo-Hatta duo), while seven others abstained.
Meanwhile, according to the Indonesian Embassy spokesman in The Hague Danang Waskito, the number of voters in the Netherlands in the presidential election on July 9 rose to 2,342 as compared to 1,092 voters recorded in the legislative election in April 2014.
He remarked that the Jokowi-JK pair garnered 82.8 percent of the votes, and the Prabowo-Hatta duo trailed far behind with only 17.2 percent of the votes.
"The process of the presidential election and ballot counting, which was participated in by Indonesian nationals in The Hague ran smoothly and democratically," Waskito reported.
In Brussels, Belgium, the Jokowi-JK pair received 76.70 percent of the votes and the Prabowo-Hatta duo 23.30 percent. In Vienna, Austria, the Jokowi-JK pair garnered 173 votes and the Prabowo-Hatta duo only got 45 votes of the 218 overall voters. (*)
