Medan, North Sumatra (Antara) - Mount Sinabung in Karo district in North Sumatra erupted again at 7.29pm Western Indonesia Time here on Sunday. The head of the Information and Data Center of the National Disaster Mitigation Agency, Sutopo Purwo Nugroho, said in a text message received here on Sunday evening that the volcano sent hot clouds 4,000 meter high and 4,500 meter away southeastward. The hot clouds could not be seen clearly because the eruption happened at night while it was also raining. Based on monitoring from the Sinabung monitoring post the eruption produced a maximum amplitude of 105 mm for 67 minutes. The increasing activity of the volcano has been informed to residents so that it has caused no fatal incidents, he said.
