Tangerang, Banten (Antara) - General Election Commission (KPU) will provide election poll facility on April 9, at the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport for 1,265 employees who will vote as regulated by Election Law. Tangerang's KPU Head Sanusi Pane stated here on Monday that out of 1,265 employees, 635 people had appropriate right to vote, while 630 people were close to having appropriate rights to vote. According to the Election Law, the appropriate voters should have identification residential number, home address and place of birth," he explained. "We have proposed the voter number data to the central KPU regarding to provide election poll at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport, and now we still waiting for their answer," Sanusi remarked. Actually, Sanusi explained that the total number of employees at the Soekarno Hatta was 1,859 working for eleven companies, but according to the Election Law, 594 people did not have the appropriate right to vote. Meanwhile, PT Angkasa Pura II, which operates from Soekarno-Hatta Airport, had committed to support KPU during Election Day by providing area to build poll. "As soon as KPU gives us the data as to how many poll are needed at the Soekarno-Hatta Airport, we are ready to provide the same," stated Angkasa Pura II General Affair Yudis Setiawan. Previously, the Soekarno-Hatta Police Head Senior Commissioner CH Pattopoi pointed out that the police had conducted a riot mitigation simulation in the airport area. "Police will stand by and take a firm action for any anarchic disturbance," Pattopoi clarified. (*)
