Palembang, S Sumatra (Antara) - Indonesia's women's tennis team has advanced to the finals of the Third Islamic Solidarity Games (ISG) after beating their Omani counterparts at the semifinals in Palembang, South Sumatra, on Wednesday. The host team, which beat Oman 2-0, will face off against Morocco, which defeated Turkey 2-1. Indonesia's men's tennis team, comprising Christopher Rungkat, Wishnu Adi Nugroho, and Elbert Sie, also advanced to the finals, having crushed their Saudi counterparts 3-0 in the semifinals. For the finals, Indonesia's men's team will play against Kuwait, which beat Turkey 2-1 in the semifinals. Indonesia's Cyntia Melita opened the door to success for the Indonesian women's team when she lost only one game, beating Sarah Al Balushi of Oman 6-0, 6-1 in less than one hour. Indonesian tennis player Lavina Tanata, who is ranked 407th by the International Tennis Federation (ITF), assured Indonesia's victory after she beat Fatma Talib Sulaiman Al Nabhani of Oman 2-6, 6-2, 6-3. Lavina lost in the first set when she faced off with the ITF's 485th seed. She later switched her strategy to hitting the balls to the baseline. "In the first set, I had not yet found my rhythm. In the second set, I tried to change my strategy by beating the ball to the baseline," she said.
