Jakarta (Antara) - Seven fishing boats at the Muara Baru fishing port of North Jakarta were affected by a freak fire on Thursday (August 15) at around 9.30 p.m. Western Indonesia Standard Time (WIB), according to the police. "The fire allegedly originated from the Cakrawala fishing boat," stated Senior Commissioner Rikwanto, the public relations chief of Jakarta police, here on Friday. He said the fire quickly spread to other boats docked nearby, adding that the incident started when big flames engulfed the Cakrawala boat. Rikwanto revealed that the fire was successfully extinguished by a tug boat and 17 fire brigade trucks by about 3.00 a.m. local time. No casualties or material losses have been reported so far, he added. (*)
