Jakarta (Antara) - The Indonesian currency rupiah lost 30 more points to close at 10,060 per US dollar on Thursday. "The rupiah fall was in line with the fundamental condition," Monex Investindo Futures' analyst Ariston Tjendra said. Slowdown in economy would put pressure on the currency of a country, Ariston said. The rupiah has been on the decline over the past months with lack of positive domestic sentiments. The central bank, Bank Indonesia, has done much in protecting rupiah from falling deeper against the US dollar. Ariston said the US dollar has gained over the majority of the world's currencies after the Fed chairman Ben Bernanke announced that the US central bank would begin to cut financial stimulus this year as that country's economy had begun to grow as expected.
