By Azi Fitriyanti Jakarta (Antara) - The National Agency for the Placement and Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (BNP2TK) has sent 156 nurse and caregiver candidates to work in Japan. BNP2TKI Head Jumhur Hidayat said here on Tuesday the 156 nurses and caregivers were selected through the Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) between Indonesia and Japan that started in 2008. "The dispatch of the nurses and caregivers to work in Japan is part of G-to-G (government-to-government) contact through EPA program between Indonesia and Japan," he said. The 48 nurse and 108 caregiver candidates who have been trained for six months in Indonesia and will be trained for another six months in Japan will be employed at the chosen hospitals and nursing homes in Japan if they pass the Japan's national exam of health service, he said. Hence, in order to pass the exam conducted in the national language, those candidates should be proficient in Japanese, he said. "That is the most difficult part of this program since I must say Japanese is not easy. However, I must say also that it can be learned," he said. (*)
