Industry Minister Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita said the 2026 Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) is expected to accelerate national automotive recovery and strengthen the sector’s foundations.
"I hope IIMS 2026 can serve as a key catalyst to speed up recovery while reinforcing the foundations of Indonesia’s automotive industry,” Kartasasmita said at the opening ceremony at the JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, on Thursday.
The 2026 exhibition, running from Feb. 5–15, features a larger scale, a more diverse range of participants, and programs tailored to both industry development and consumer lifestyle trends.
The event targets total transactions of Rp8 trillion (US$475 million) and approximately 570,000 visitors.
IIMS has consistently shown significant transaction growth from 2023 to 2025, averaging 23 percent per year, signaling strong resilience and potential for the national automotive sector amid global challenges.
The annual show also serves as a strategic platform for producers, consumers, and industry stakeholders to meet, exchange ideas, and provide constructive input to advance Indonesia’s automotive ecosystem.
Kartasasmita emphasized the role of the IIMS in promoting environmentally friendly vehicles, aligning with the government’s agenda to accelerate the transition toward sustainable automotive technologies.
